Through conflicts and family tragedies, they supported one
another. They sat in the restaurant, holding a conversation as
if they had been together a lifetime.
“Good evening, ma’am. Sir, may I start you off with any-
thing to drink?” the waiter asked.
“I’ll take pink lemonade.” “And you, sir?” “I’ll take the
same,” Israel responded.
“Can I start you off with any appetizers?” the waiter
asked. Israel ordered mozzarella sticks, and Adriana ordered
stuffed mushrooms.
“Okay, two pink lemonades, an order of mozzarella sticks,
and stuffed mushrooms coming up, the waiter confirmed.
“Thanks,” Israel, and Adriana said at the same time. “I
‘ll make a deal with you. I will share three of my mozzarella
sticks with you if you share three of your stuffed mushrooms
with me, Israel proposed. “Let me think about it. Just kidding.
It’s a deal,” Adriana said.
They both laughed. “So how is your semester going?”
Adriana asked.
“It’s going well. I met a lot of new friends. The football
coach likes me. He said that there’s a strong possibility that I
will be the starting quarterback next season. I’m looking for-
ward to that.
“That’s awesome, Adriana said. “What about you?” Is-
rael asked.
I’ve been telling everyone I could about Jesus Christ and
his finished work at Calvary. Last night we had a large group
Bible Study on campus in the auditorium, and several students
gave their lives to Jesus. It’s been awesome. Mostly everybody
knows me. I made a lot of new friends and was blessed with
the opportunity to bless the body of Christ with a small inspira-
tional message.
“Really.”
