Will the Real Christians Stand Up
They both laughed.
“Your sister and little brother call me brother, and my
brothers treat you as you were their sister. I can’t see myself
being with anyone else, and the thought of it makes me un-
easy. I know that we’ve chosen to go our separate paths, but
while we are on those paths, I don’t want to lose you Adriana.”
Looking around, then getting down on one knee, Israel
nervously continues. “With all of my heart, love, and passion,
I ask, will you marry me?”
Resisting the urge to scream with all her might, Adriana
stood up quickly from the table, her eyes glimmering with wa-
tery tears as if from a waterfall. “Yes, yes,” she replied as she
embraced Israel and began to plant several kisses over his
face.
The restaurant was full of spectators who exploded with
cheers and applause. Most of them had stopped eating to
observe the wonderful occurrence in front of them. Among
the spectators appeared Adriana’s parents, who had been
obscurely hidden at one of the other tables.
“Mom, Dad, did you know about this?”Adriana asked
surprisingly. “Yes, we did, Sweetie. Israel has been asking us
for months if he could have your hand in marriage. We knew
how much he loved you, and we just got tired of him asking,”
her dad said.
Adriana smiled. She felt special. Most of all, she felt loved.
God was smiling down on her, and she knew it.
