Department invites applications for the temporary, on-call position of: TAKES PLACE ON
Two (2) Winter Maintenance Operators NOVEMBER 1, 2, 3 &
November 18, 2024, to March 28, 2025 NOV 8, 9, 10
POSITION SUMMARY
We are seeking to fill two (2) temporary, on-call positions for the upcoming winter season.
Reporting to the Manager of Transportation Services, Winter Maintenance Operators will be
responsible for a variety of tasks related to winter maintenance of the Municipal Road Systems.
Operators will work on “standby” and be on call 7 days a week. To ensure availability, Operators
will receive a guaranteed standby pay of 20 hours per week, regardless of whether they are called
in to work. If the total hours worked exceed the 20-hour standby, employees will be
compensated for the additional time worked. This structure allows for flexibility in scheduling
while ensuring consistent compensation. To learn more go to:

Hey, boomerang club members, are you ready for our second annual fall colour
tour? Our next meeting will be Wednesday October 9th, at the Mighty Crowe Bar
and Grill on Station Road. We will meet at 12 noon and have lunch and leave right
after lunch for our colour tour and we’ll stop and have some dessert and coffee on
the way home. It’s imperative that everyone RSVPs because we will need drivers and
