Behind them, the No 1 Wagon looks very proud
in its elegant brown and cream paint and shiny
brass fittings. Its wheels have tyres made of
iron....that rumble and grumble on the road.
Philip, the gate-man, waves them on their way
and watches the horses’ nose bags swinging
from side to side on their hooks underneath the
back of the wagon...as it disappears into the
distant traffic.
In the “big city”....
