The Unique Rootes TS3 2 stroke 6piston, 3 cylinder, turbo
powered diesel engine.
Trucks were rapidly moving beyond the 16 to 24 ton norm
at that time. 32 tons requirement was not far ahead.
Articulation was beginning to become an industry standard
and “the Factory” had nothing to compete.
For the time being I decided to concentrate on the strength
of the existing range which was in the 16 ton market. The
largest of the 4 wheel lorries.
Product knowledge of heavy commercial vehicles within
“the garage” had been lagging behind and one or two existing
clients had bought vehicles without being made aware of latest
developments and add on advantages.
This began to create problems so I decided that a fresh
start and new approach was necessary for the company image.
I planned a sales promotion week with a selection of
demonstration vehicles from the factory to be available for
clients to try within their own company.
