My second hand car sales figures were never the same
            again.
Within just a few weeks Herby was diagnosed with
aggressive cancer and never returned to work. I was grateful
for all he had taught me in those few short months and visited
him at his home where he was often alone. I called to see him
as often as possible until he died.

Commer Maxiload, mainstay of the 1960’s commercials.

At the same time as my eyes were opened to just how
            unscrupulous ‘the management’ had become.
I was destined to attempt to fulfil the desire of the Factory
that “the garage” once more became a visible presence in
commercial vehicle sales within the County.
In other words, “the Factory” demanded that “the garage”
did something positive to improve lorry sales or the dealership
            would be in jeopardy!
Something really positive came out of this. I was given a
company car. Second-hand of course, but fairly new and very
smart. I duly began to put all I had learned at the factory into
            practice.
