JUPITER AT BELTON HOUSE
In later years, we used her son ’Jupiter’ who was equally excitable and sufficiently strong
for us to take a four wheel vehicle to many events.
I might digress here for just a few moments to relate a tale from one memorable event
            which involved Jupiter.

From time to time, Sue received invitations for the driving group to attend some function or
other within the County. Often food was provided afterwards by the host, if not we would all
take picnic food to enjoy afterwards.

The event coming to mind was to be held at Belton House just outside Grantham.
This is a property steeped in history and now under the control of the National Trust.
We had been invited by the current Lord Brownlow and his wife who were in residence for
part of the summer season. The Brownlow’s were in fact neighbours of Sue who with her
            husband Bob farmed adjoining properties.

The Brownlow’s were to depart during the afternoon of our drive and return to their
permanent home in the Channel Islands.
An entertaining drive had been organised using much of the estate property and we were
to eat our picnic afterwards in the orangery situated in the house gardens.
A conducted tour of the house for our members had been organised for afterwards.
