The site of our initial gathering and mug presentation.
Lord and Lady Brownlow had arranged for us all to receive ‘Belton House’ Mugs to
commemorate our visit and it had been requested we form up on the cricket green at the
front of the house for this presentation before our drive began.

Oh dear, this was not a good idea as there were 15 to 20 very excitable horse and ponies
all ready for the off but restrained to the best of our ability.

After some rapid circles of the cricket pitch we began to form into ragged lines of some
order to receive our mugs with grace.
Jupiter had been our choice for the day and he was pulling my favourite vehicle, a four
wheel market cart painted in British racing green.

This vehicle we had bought in some dilapidated state from a dealer in the Wye valley, it
had originated in Confolon a truly beautiful village in the Charente department of France
and still bore the original manufacturers plate.
