Why wear you PPE
Safety helmet – Protect your head from injury should you fall over or be struck by a moving or falling
object.
Safety glasses (EN166 standard) – Protect your eyes from foreign objects that could damage your eyes
or cause loss of sight.
High-visibility clothing – Allow you to be clearly visible in an environment with moving vehicles and
machinery.
Safety footwear (S1P standard) – The steel top cap and mid sole protection offered by S1P standard
safety footwear prevent puncture and cuts
wounds from nails and other sharp
objects.
TJ issued safety gloves – Protect your
hands from punctures, cuts or abrasions
whilst handling rough and sharp waste
objects.
TJ issued hearing protection – Prevent
long term hearing complications, such as
hearing loss or tinnitus, due to exposure
to high noise levels for prolonged periods.
The use of personal headphones or ear
buds do not protect your hearing and
are not permitted at any TJ site.
FFP3 face fitted RPE or APF20 Air fed –
Prevent long term health issues such as
lung cancer, silicosis, or chronic
obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD)
due to dust exposure for prolonged
periods.
