                Cleaning and Maintenance

                                            DO NOT WASH THE FILTERS

Clean the face piece assembly periodically with a soft cloth dampened with mild soapy water and
wipe/leave to dry, change both filters when they become discoloured to a shade of dark grey or if
you are having difficulty breathing. If you are unsure then speak to your manager for help.

A complete strip down of the mask should take place when deemed necessary as follows:

             • Disassemble mask by removing the filters, head straps and valves,
             • Immerse in warm water and scrub with a soft brush and a neutral detergent
             • Also the mask can be soaked in a disinfectant for a short period of time
             • All parts should then be rinsed in clean warm water and allowed to dry in a non-contaminated

                 atmosphere.
             • The bag that was provided should also be kept clean as this is where your mask should be kept
                 when not in use.

When you start/end your shift, your RPE will be inspected by the site foreman, to ensure that the
masks are clean and the filters are ok, they will visually check face fitting before your shift starts.

You are required to be clean shaven daily and if not a razor will now be held at each site for those
of you who have forgotten, this will ensure a good face seal is achieved.

The foreman will complete a check form to confirm this has happened.
