change in the workstation or workstation environment.
Employees legally defined as DSE 'Users' are legally entitled to request an eyesight test; this
should be arranged via the section manager. The cost of the eyesight test and any basic (single
lens) corrective spectacles required will be borne by the company.
33 Visitors
In accordance with the Occupiers’ Liability Acts, the Health and Safety at Work etc Act 1974
and the Management of Health and Safety at Work Regulations 1999, occupiers of premises
are required to take all reasonable care to secure the safety of visitors, including contractors’
employees, who are permitted entry to their premises.
All Foremen, Managers and Engineers are to ensure that proper health and safety
arrangements are made for the safety of visitors. These arrangements shall include an
adequate health and safety induction and brief in every case where this is necessary, to
safeguard the health and safety of the visitor and/or to protect company equipment and the
environment.
Access to areas, which may be especially hazardous to visitors, is to be restricted by the use
of barriers and/or notices as appropriate.
