Drive the vehicle in a safe, lawful and efficient manner to the standard required to pass your
external competency test in all weather conditions when both laden or un-laden.
Ensure you have a comfortable seating position that allows you to access all controls and gives
you all round vision.
Do not drive whilst using a hand-held mobile phone.
If in doubt about anything then please ASK we are here to help.
Carrying of Passengers
The carriage of un-authorised passengers or animals in any vehicle is strictly forbidden at all
times unless written permission has been given by a company Director.
Driving Licence
Drivers of Company vehicles on the highway must hold a valid driving licence which must be
produced to the Company on request, or on at least a 4-month basis. In the event of the
employee’s driving licence being withdrawn for whatever reason you must notify your manager
immediately and not drive any company vehicle as you will not be insured and where the use
of a vehicle is essential to the performance of the employee’s job, the Company reserves the
right to terminate their employment.
Any change to your license must be reported to your line manager as soon as it
occurs.
Holidays
Please note that the company operates a first come first serve basis, with a strict limit of
operatives taking holidays during busy periods. Book your holiday well in advance to avoid
disappointment. The forms can be collected from the office.
7 Eye Contact
Please ensure that whilst walking or driving around on any site you have made eye contact
with the vehicle and plant drivers before crossing their path from any direction.
You may need to wave to attract the operators/drivers attention
• You must then wait for their permission to cross
the yard to ensure you have been seen
This procedure is to ensure that you are kept safe and you take
responsibility for your safety and anyone else in your party whilst
crossing the yard at any site you visit.
