My dreams as I wrote this book were twofold. First, I wanted to
see it in its finished form-clean, crisp, edited, and in the book­
stores. I carried my vision of this book in my head for years until
I made the choice to take action. Second, I dreamed of being at a
book signing and seeing a sea of my books completely opposite to
what I just described. No longer new, crisp, and clean but instead
worn in, written all over, with dog-eared pages full of Post-it Notes.
I dream of seeing this book literally transform itself from my jour­
ney to yours.
