Minced Beef, Onions and Peas
Ingredients and Prep:
1/2 cup of all-purpose flour
1 cube of beef stock.
1 chopped onion.
2 cloves of garlic, chopped.
4 cups of milk.
15 ounces of frozen peas.
1 pound of ground beef.
Coconut oil.
Dash of salt and pepper.
Cooking Directions:
Place the oil in a large frying pan over medium-high heat.
Add the meat, onion and garlic and onion.
Cook for approximately 5 to 10 minutes. The onions should be
translucent and there should be no pink portions of the beef; it should be
completely browned.
Place the cube of beef stock in hot water and allow it to dissolve.
Add the beef stock to the meat.
Steam or boil the peas.
Remove the meat, garlic and onion mix from the burner.
Add the flour and mix well.
Place the pan over medium-low heat.
Stir in the milk. Pour slowly and stir continuously until it reaches the
desired thickness.
Add the peas.
If desired, add salt and pepper for a bit of extra flavor.
Cook for 5 minutes and serve.
Serving Instructions, Tips & Variations: Serve this dish with wild rice
or mashed potatoes.
For extra flavor, consider adding red or green peppers to this dish. Add
the peppers to the beef at the beginning of the cooking process.
This recipe can be well-complemented by Worcestershire sauce.
In place of coconut oil, you can use sesame oil for this recipe.
