Welcome
One of our key institutional priorities is increasing the leadership capacity of
leaders at all levels of the Chicago Zoological Society (CZS). We strive to continu-
ously enhance our institutional performance and results, hire and develop the best
leaders, and make CZS more successful in achieving our business objectives and
our important conservation mission. By doing so, we can develop, advance, and
empower our staff to achieve optimal results and ensure that they are fully engaged
and contributing their fullest to our mission and to the organization’s success.
With this in mind, we have established the CZS University Leadership Academy,
part of CZS University. Every leader in the organization is expected to take
leadership development seriously. The Leadership Academy is focused on assessing
our talent and investing in our leaders to meet the demands of today and prepare
for tomorrow.
We created the CZSU Leadership Academy Development Model to ensure that
each leader has specific leadership competencies for success at each level. This
model is the foundation for the Leadership Development Process at CZS and
helps guide and focus our efforts. This is a significant investment in our leaders
and in our human capital. Please take full advantage of the valuable development
