Is(are) the dog(s) social towards other dogs?
Both Gabr and Ghaada (and Azra too) know how to read other dogs and how to approach
them. Ghaada however, in her enthusiasm, can sometimes run very impetuously towards
a dog, in order to try to play with it. Not every dog understands that. You will see her
shrug her shoulders and with a snout of 'well then, don't' she will walk on. Gabr likes to
look at other dogs, friendly and calm, unless he estimates that they are very annoyingly
dominant, then he will walk around them in a circle.

How is the health of the dogs?
The Sloughi is a healthy breed. It used to have PRA and the occasional epilepsy. Faruq
died of a spleen tumor, but that is also common in other breeds. Gabr had 2 major knee
surgeries because he crashed into a tree in pursuit of a hare. It didn't move aside. But
unfortunately that did cost him his cruciate ligaments and meniscus. Fortunately, he has
been walking fine again for years. We just make sure he doesn't turn and run too much
because his knee can't take that as well. Running straight is fine.
When it is cold and especially when it rains the dogs get a coat; especially because the
Sloughi has a thin coat (and skin), without undercoat.
