DOCUMENTATION AND ANCESTRY OF LA'ABAN, JET, SHA'ILAH
Da'ajah, left, and La'aban, at Dhahran, Saudi Arabia, with
Sheikh Dawsari © Dawsari
Elizabeth Dawsari reports in Gail Goodman's book "The Saluqi" on pages 641, 645, 646, 647
and 650 about the Salukis of the Bani Dawsari Bedouin tribe, La'aban and other imports, a
total of 7 Salukis.
The kennel name registered to Susi Leimbacher in Switzerland is "Tepe Gawra". Susi
Leimbacher (maiden name Mühlemann) was Jim Hans Peter Oechslin's partner for a while.
However, as he emphasises, they were never married. Susi Leimbacher was later married
to Dr. John Burchard in the USA.
Elizabeth Dawsari writes in Gail Goodman's book "Saluqi" in her article, "The Seven Bani
Dawsari Imports", that her kennel of Salukis "Bani Dawsari" are descended from seven
imports from the Middle East. The term "Middle East" actually includes: Iran, Afghanistan,
India etc. However, E. Dawsari uses it in reference to the countries of the Arabian
Peninsula. Brandi Bint Dawsari was bred by the Dawsari Bedouin tribe. La'aban and Sha'ila
of the Al Murra Bedouins, both from Saudi Arabia, founded the Bani Dawsari Salukis.
Sha'ila was imported to Switzerland by Dr. John Burchard.
Tepe Gawra La'aban and Tepe Gawra Lathma were imported from Dubai, bred by Susi
Leimbacher, both from Sha'ila and from an English-American bred male. Susi Leimbacher
lived with Jim Hans Peter Oechslin at the time.
