The smooth Saluki and its origins
Historically, short-haired or feathered
Salukis can therefore be assigned to certain
regions and tribes. Since Sloughis are
exclusively smooth, it is obvious that they
have nothing in common genetically with
heterozygous Salukis.
The only thing they have in common is that
they are both dogs.
The tension between landraces and
selected breeds bred according to a
standard is demonstrated using various
examples.
