LITERACY
READING: (in the content areas, tutoring, mathematics, language, science, social
studies, family literacy, etc.) Number of Sorors:1 Number of Students: 10
Description of the Activity: Soror Dianne works with grades K-5 once a week at our adoptive
school Ginter Park Elementary. She tutors assigned students in the content area of reading. The
small group instruction with two students at a time has been most effective in seeing growth in
each student. After each session the students will choose a book to read aloud.
AFRICAN AMERICAN HISTORY: Number of Sorors: 5
Description of the Activity: The sorors of Alpha Zeta volunteered to help the with the costumes
and decorations for the Black History Program at Ginter Park Elementary School. The program
was held on Thursday, February 21, 2019 and showcased students grades k through 5 portraying
roles of African Americans from the Motherland to Apollo.
TECHNOLOGY/COMPUTERS: Number of Sorors: 12 Description of the Activity:
The sorors discussed how to navigate through google drive. We also went through how to use
social media and review our instagram page. The sorors went through the website and discussed
what they would like to see posted for our chapter.
CHILDREN, ADULT & EARLY CHILDHOOD EDUCATION, TOUCH -A-CHILD:
Number of Sorors:10 Description of the Activity: The sorors of Alpha Zeta Chapter donated
toys to children at the First Home Care Therapeutic holiday party. The gifts were presented to
members of the staff who were most appreciative. They took pictures and wanted to know, if we
will support them in future projects.
