of the Activity: Parents were invited to participate with a Capital School District board member
and other educators in the local community, to address any concerns that they may be
experiencing thus far in the school year. A representative form Delaware Parent's Association
presented a informative and timely presentation. School supplies were available for those in
need. In addition, a student workshop was planned. One parent was in attendance. We
discussed a concern that she had. Afterwards, the group had a powerful discussion on ideas that
we could do in order to make education a priority in our community. The school board member
went back and shared this with the other school board members and district officials. The
following week, the district asked if the group would meet with them in order to collaborate on
community projects. One idea is a Family Academy in one of the elementary or middle schools.
This meeting is sceduled for December 11 at 4:30 pm, in the district office.
