Description of the Activity: On Saturday May 18th, the Sorors of Alpha Pi and Beta Tau
gathered together for a luncheon in celebration of our 96th Annual Founder’s Day at the Maple
Dale Country Club located in Dover Delaware. This event was hosted by Alpha Pi chapter and
we welcomed our Sister chapter Sorors of Beta Tau.
Our mistress of ceremony was Soror Rhonda Braddy who did a marvelous job of gliding us
through our program. We had a reading entitled “You are my Sister” by Soror Clealyn Wilson.
An award from Regionals was presented to Soror Theresa Holmes who has been in the sorority
for 50 years. Another means to fellowship with our guest Sorors, was to participate in a fun
exercise during an “Icebreaker” led by the Basileus of Alpha Pi chapter, Sheila Griffin.
The highlight of our day was when we were serenaded by our guest Artist Saxophonist, Mr.
Mark Mitchell. He wowed us with his musical talent playing pieces from genres of gospel and
jazz. He gave us two selections and played for us all through our meal. Our cuisine was made up
of an Italian Buffet and everything was delicious! Each Soror and guest received beautiful gifts
to remember this momentous occasion. The fellowship was delightful during our “chat and

Our torch ceremony was conducted after our guests left the room. The ritual was led by our two
Basileis, Soror Sheila Griffin and Soror Glenda Sinclair. It was a beautiful ceremony as we sang
our last song, prayed our last prayer and left the room silently. We are looking forward to
celebrating our next Founders’ Day in 2020!
