National Sorority of Phi Delta Kappa, Inc.
                                           REGIONAL COMMITTEE CHAIRPERSON REPORT
                                                                 Sororal Year 2019

                 Y. E. S. Program Committee: RSCVP Regional Chair: Soror Evelyn West

Briefly describe and highlight exemplary programs reported by chapters of the region.
Summarize exemplary reports only and list the contributing chapters at the end of the report.

Chapters reporting: Alpha, Zeta, Eta, Theta, Pi, Rho, Alpha Zeta, and Alpha Chi

                 Alpha Chapter
The retired sorors of Alpha Chapter meet on the second and fourth Saturdays of each month at
Monumental Baptist Church. We meet at the Church to volunteer in the Soup Kitchen.
Approximately 75-80 people are served which include men, woman, and children. We also
collected empty pill bottles. The project requires the removal of labels from the bottles, cleaning
the bottles thoroughly, sorting according to size and shape. The bottles had to be recapped and
put into large Ziploc bags. The bottles were shipped to Matthew 25 Ministries where they are
used for medical supplies in other countries. The retired Sorors also volunteer their time reading
to students in schools. We have gone to Public Schools 11,12,22 and 29 in Jersey City New
                 Jersey.

                 Zeta Chapter
Zeta's retired sorors continue to serve their churches, schools and communities in after school
tutorial programs. Soror Deborah Johnson continues her presidency with the National Council of
Negro Women while Soror Nancy Alston serves as a tour guide at Mother Bethel's Underground
                 Railroad Project.

                 Eta Chapter
Eta's retired Sorors participated in the Search for Our Sisters: made calls, sent, and used the
social media to reconnect with sorors experiencing health challenges/losses, welcomed students
at Camden City School the first day of school, participated in Breast Cancer Walk:, invited
Veterans, single or disabled sorors to a Thanksgiving Dinner and spread holiday cheer to family
members, longtime friends, sorors, and neighbors through social media.

                 Theta Chapter
Theta's retired Sorors participate in many activities throughout the year. Some participate in the
Religious Released Time Education program with our former Eastern Regional Director,

Soror Drusilla Kinzonzi and teaching "Good News Clubs' which are sponsored by Child
Evangelism Fellowship. Sorors also serve as substitute teachers in elementary schools,
educational data collectors for NEAP, counselors for NYC High School enrollment and work the

Pi Chapter sorors are actively living the second chapter of their lives involved in family life,
sorority activities, and church and community organizations. They have actively supported the
