Employees are required to:
● Receive prior approval from their manager, unless it is an unplanned absence. In the event
of an unplanned absence, the employee is required to notify their manager as soon as
physically possible.

preventable disruption in operations.
● Track leave in the Company’s HRIS.
LEAVES OF ABSENCE AND ACCOMODATIONS
The Company may grant leaves of absence to employees to be away from work for reasons or
time periods not otherwise covered by the Company’s Take What You Need Time Off policy or
other policies in this Handbook. The below policies describe some types of leave available to
employees, including eligibility criteria for and duration of the leave; however, these policies are
not exhaustive of the reasons for which the Company would consider a leave of absence. Please
contact the People Team if you require time away from work that is not otherwise covered in this
handbook.
Family and Medical Leave
DELFI complies with the federal Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA) and (as to employees in
California), the California Family Rights Act (CFRA), which require employers to grant unpaid
leaves of absence to qualified workers for certain medical and family-related reasons. The
Company also abides by any state and local leave laws. The more generous of the laws will apply
to the employee if the employee is eligible under both federal and state laws although where
applicable, leaves of absence under federal and state law will run concurrently. Please note there
are many requirements, qualifications, and exceptions under these laws, and each employee’s
situation is different. Contact the People Team to discuss options for leave.
Other Disability Leaves
In addition to medical or pregnancy-related disability leaves described above, employees may
take a temporary disability leave of absence if necessary to reasonably accommodate a
workplace injury or a disability under the Americans with Disabilities Act or state law. Any
disability leave under this section will run concurrently with any medical leave to which the
employee is entitled under the FMLA, CFRA, or California FEHA to the fullest extent permitted by
applicable law.
Temporary-disability leave is unpaid - Employees may be entitled to California State Disability
Insurance (“SDI”) and/or other applicable state disability insurance. Employees taking disability
leave must comply with the Family Care, Medical and Military Family Leave provisions regarding
substitution of paid leaves, notice, and medical certification. For the purpose of applying these
provisions, a disability leave will be considered to be a medical leave.
Military Leave
DELFI supports the military obligations of all employees and grants leaves for uniformed service
in accordance with applicable federal and state laws. Any employee who needs time off for
