GENERAL SAFETY - EMPLOYEES

• Thoroughly plan the task;

• Read and comply with the controls detailed in

the Safe Systems of Work, Risk Assessments,
COSHH and Manual Handling Assessments;

• Prevent unauthorised access to hazardous or

restricted areas;
• Request a Permit-to-Work where required;

• Ensure you are trained to do the task;

• All tasks must be suitably supervised;

• Use the correct work equipment for the task;

• Only use mechanical plant and power tools if

you are trained;

• Inspect and record work equipment

inspections before use;

• Report defective work equipment to your line

manager

• Never use defective work equipment or plant;

• Wear the required PPE;

• Comply with pictorial safety signage.
