Laurence thought that Andrew might have
been siphoning off her funds sneakily or
topping up his own from the bank, as he
was banker, but these scurrilous
accusations remain unproven.
It was getting dark by the time the
visitors left and everyone agreed it had
been a fabulous day, as they wound their
way wonkily up the hill.
After dinner, everyone was quite happy to relax and doze a little and didn’t
complain when it was time to go to bed.
