Christmas Dinner for Dogs
The next morning was bright and clear and promised more beautiful weather.
The Dogfather started cooking - 3 kilograms of turkey, roast potatoes,
carrots, pumpkin, cauliflower, green beans and of course, gravy. The smell of
the cooking meat was tantalising. "I remember this from last year" said
Tucker. "We all got Christmas Dinner out on the deck." "Oh, I do so hope that
is happening again," said Rosie. "You know any sort of bird is my very favourite!
And with chicken gravy, I don’t even mind the veggies!"
"I remember we had a dollop of custard too for dessert,” BJ reminisced. "I do
SO love dessert. Though the Dogmother didn’t share Christmas Pudding with
us. She said it wasn’t for puppies but I’m sure I’d like it if she gave me a try!"
When lunch was ready and served, all the dogs
enjoyed their special Christmas Day dinner -
made just for them - though it has to be said
that the pumpkin and carrots were not
enjoyed as much as the turkey was!
