It was explained above that what is meant by tambo is a
work related to the writing of history; The work tells the origin
of ethnic groups, countries, customs of a country and their
nature is based on the beliefs of the local community from
generation to generation. The tambo that is meant in this thesis
is the Minang tambo which tells about customs, sourced from
folklore in this country.
According to adat experts, at first there were three sons
of the king who were sailing, the older one was named
Maharajo Alif, the middle one was named Maharajo Dipang
and the youngest was named Maharajo Dirajo. On a voyage to
the golden island (Sumatra), the king's crown accidentally fell
into the sea. A companion of the king's youngest son named
Cati Bilang Pandai managed to make a duplicate (copy) of the
crown that fell into the sea. Because the imitation was very
similar to the original, the three sons of the king agreed that the
one who had the right to descend on this golden island was the
youngest son named Maharajo Dirajo, while the second son of
