Learners’ motivation is very important in helping them learn the subject. Figure 4.3.12 revealed
that about 75% of the respondents indicated that there was a very low level of learners' motivation
to learn poetry. However, 25% of the respondents indicated that they felt that there was a certain
level of learners' motivation to learn poetry.
4.3.13 Textbooks poetry content for both teachers and learners
Figure 13 indicates the reaction of the respondents to the question of whether the textbooks provide
enough content for both the learners and teachers.

When this requirement is not met, both teaching and learning can be greatly affected. Figure 13
showed that the majority of the students (64.7%) indicated that the textbooks had good content for
both the teachers and learners. Only 35.3% of the respondents indicated that they felt that the
