               The majority of the respondents (82.4%) indicated that there was a need for extra classes to help

               learners understand poetry. Only 17.6% of the respondents indicated that there was no need for
               extra classes for poetry. From these results, we can conclude that there was a need for additional

               classes to help learners understand poetry. This was because the content of poetry was too much

               for normal classes. Besides, poetry seems to be one of the subjects that learners were struggling
               within the literature lessons.


               4.3.16  Learners beliefs towards the importance of poetry
               Learners' belief in the importance of the subject affects their focus and learning practices. Figure

               16 shows what student teachers' perceptions about the belief of learners towards the importance

               of poetry.
