Kitchen Supervisor: None Sir, we are all lucky we were able to come out of the kitchen before
the explosion. However, our Head Cook had a mild heart attack because of the incidence.
Fire Hotline: Please, do not worry the Emergency Medical Service is also on their way there.

It is important to understand the basic characteristics of fire in order to protect our-
selves. Fire spreads quickly and there is no time to gather valuables or neither make
a phone call. A fire can become life threatening in just two minutes while a residence
can be engulfed in flames in a matter of five minutes.

2. Can you state some of the hazards or bad effects of fire?

What can be more dangerous than the flame itself, the heat and smoke from the fire. Inhaling
the super-hot air can cause our lungs to sear since fire produces poisonous gases, which can

ratio.

3. What is the proper way of escaping a fire through a closed door?
