may take a bit longer compared to the regular check out procedure, but it is worthy to avoid
theft. Should there be any fraudulent acts done against them, the company will notify them
immediately.
1. You have called the hotline of your Mini Laptop. You purchased it 2 years
ago. Unfortunately, you need technical assistance for the product, but its
warranty had lapsed. A sales representative of the repair program offered
you. Unfortunately, the service charged was more than what the sales repre-
sentative discussed during the call. You knew about this theft after receiving
the credit card bill.

Hi, I am so frustrated with my experience with your company. About a month ago, I called for
a technical assistance. I was told that it would cost me only $65 to repair my laptop, but when
I saw my bill, I was shocked to see $368 was charged instead. This is very unacceptable. I hope
you will take care of it. I feel so frustrated about the incident. Do you have any recommenda-
tion, so this would not happen again?
2. You have planned to have a restaurant after school together with your best
friend. Right after graduation, you have financed the project. You had opened
a checking account. Both of you were the signatories for the account. It was
so unfortunate, that Linda, your best friend, left her things in a bar. A month
after that, you have found out that there were unauthorized check disburse-
ments.
Sample answer:
Linda, can you still remember who were with us that night? That is a very huge amount of mon-
ey. I have spent half of my life to save that for our restaurant. I never doubted on you Linda.
If only we could have taken advantage of any Theft policies, then maybe we could have been
protected. Anyway, that is just money. We can still have it back. The morale in this incidence is
to be extremely careful. We will also get theft insurance.
