Attention at the show
Cam: Even though the TR-9600 is small, we feel that its adaptability and competitive pricing
should attract a lot of attention. Our research team gave us some feedback that these two are
features that buyers nowadays are looking for in a product.
Park: Are you really sure that it will get lots of attention at the show? Our rival products bank on
their features and flashy appearance. You know that people easily get attracted by those.
Cam: Don’t worry. We have fielded in confident and accommodating experts who will talk about
the features of our products at the show. They will explain the edge of our products over the
competitors. That will surely draw in the crowd. Then, we’ll be sure to receive a lot of in-
quires and we will probably increase our sales as well. Now, is there any way to ship a sample
unit in one week so that it can arrive in time for the Trade Fair? I think it’s very important to
advertise the products. We have to get the actual products on display, or else, our strategy
won’t work. People have to see to believe.
Park: I was so surprised at your marketing survey for the Trade Fair. I think your strategy will
work. At the moment, two boxes of PTM 1004’s are on its way to the fair site. I understand

1. What gimmicks can help you attract attention to your products in a trade
fair or product launching?
Sample answer:
I believe that product presentation is a big factor when it comes to fairs and launch-
ings. There should be an impressive and attractive set-up for the product stall. There
should be lights, music, food, etc. There should also be pleasant and energetic recep-
tionists who will attend to the visitors. Of course, freebies will also attract guests.
2. Have you ever attended a trade fair or product launching show? What things
did you learn from the experience?
Sample answer:
Yes, I have recently attended a trade fair at the World Trade Center. It showcased the
latest in computer technology. All the big companies in the field were present, and I
learned a great deal even by just simply looking at the way they present their items.
The marketing strategies are so diverse and competitive. I’m planning to modify some
of these strategies to suit our product and clients.
3. Do you agree that the right marketing can sell even the worst product in the
market? Why or why not?
