1. You are giving an orientation to new agents responsible in drafting quota-
tions for your products. Explain the importance of the following points in
                  their job.

                 a. Setting a standard in the prices
                 b. maintaining consistency
                 c. learning from oversights and their repercussions

                  Sample answer:
As the people in charge of preparing and drafting the quotations for our products,
you have to be informed of certain things. First, we follow a standard price for all our
items. We have a list of standard prices and this list should always be with you. Of
course, knowing the prices by heart will also be convenient, but the list should always
be around, so that you can check anytime. We also maintain a strict consistency in the
prices we give. Our clients know one another and they compare the deals they get. We
have to be fair to both, lest we get accused of favoring others. We always have to check
our consistency. Lastly, we try to avoid any oversight in relation to prices. Mistakes like
these can go a long way. This might jeopardize future deals. Hence, all quotations are
checked, signed, and finalized by supervisors. Be sure that you follow this standard
procedure in drafting quotations. Good luck to all!

               2. You are training your agents to explain the prices you set for your products.
                  Discuss the following points.

                 a. Promptness in delivery
                 b. Accuracy in the orders
                 c. Competitive pricing
                 d. Quality of the products
                 e. Prices are still open to haggling

                  Sample answer:
As the people in charge of drafting the quotations of our items, you need to know
our bases for the price of our items. We need to justify our standard to our clients. You
should be able to explain this well. Our product’s price is influenced by the prompt-
ness and accuracy that go with it. A big chunk of the product price goes to ensuring
promptness and delivery. Considering the quality of our products, our price is really
considered very reasonable. This is because we make sure that we have a competitive
price in the business. Of course, even if we have a standard price, we are still open to
haggling under certain circumstances. Just bear all these things in mind and with the
guidance of your mentor, I know you will do well in your job.
