Unit 2

Would you like to come to my house

                  for dinner this Friday?

A: We’ve been occupied with this project the past few months.
B: Well, I can’t blame the management for focusing their attention on this one. It’s a multimillion
                     dollar investment.
A: Yes. This is our biggest project so far. I can’t wait for this to be completed.

B: Me too. I think we all deserve a break. We’ve been working so hard the past weeks.
A: Absolutely! Imagine, we have to work even on weekends.
B: That’s really terrible, but I have a good idea. Why don’t we chill-out on Friday?
A: That’s a great idea! Would you like to come to my house for dinner this Friday? It’s my dad’s
                     birthday.
B: Really? I’d like to. Thanks for the invitation. Who else would be coming on Friday?
A: Actually, I didn’t invite the others so please be quiet about it.
B: Is that so? Okay. I won’t tell anybody.
                  A: Thank you.

                  1. What do you typically do on Friday nights?

                    Sample answer:
My life is monotonous. My life revolves around work and school so I just go to the library every Friday night in preparation for my class the next
day. I’m often preoccupied with work so I allot every spare time I have to hit the books.

                  2. How do you unwind after a stressful day at work?

                    Sample answer:
I hit the gym after a hard day’s work. It’s the best way for me to relax and rejuvenate, but I also try to get a massage once in a while.

                  3. Given your demanding schedule, do you still have time to chill-out with your pals?

                    Sample answer:

Definitely. I make it a point to hang out with them at least once a week either in a restaurant or at home. We’ve been friends since high school
so they’re like a family to me.
