1. The sales of the company have been declining at an alarming rate in the past two months. Thus, the manage-
ment has set a meeting on Monday to discuss this matter. You have requested your secretary yesterday to
prepare the necessary reports for the meeting. You are asking her about the following:

a. consolidated sales report for the months of January and February
b. annual sales for 2007

Sample answer:
How far along are you with the consolidated sales report for the months of January and February? Submit it to me together with the annual
sales report for 2007. I need those documents by tomorrow. We have to address the problem as soon as possible before it gets out of hand.

2. Your boss is asking for the assessment report regarding the seminar that was recently concluded. He gave you
two days to work on it. He is now asking for your output. You are explaining to him the following:

a. You have not yet finished the assessment report because you got sick yesterday.
b. You need another day to complete it.

Sample answer:
I’m sorry sir but I have not yet finished the assessment report. I was not able to report for work yesterday because I was terribly sick and couldn’t
manage to get up. I’m 70% done with this. I hope you could give me another day to complete it. I’ll submit it after lunch tomorrow. I hope you
understand. Thank you.
