Concierge: Good morning, Ma’am. How’s your day? Welcome to Roy Teeluck Salon!
Lady: I am not so sure if it is really a good morning because I have a bad hair day today. That is why I
have decided to drop by. Is Royal around? I badly need his magic touch and scissors.
Concierge: He will be available soon. He is just finishing his hair coloring on Mrs. Drew.
Lady: I’ll just have to wait for him. Anyway, I do not have to work today at the office.
Concierge: Well, Ma’am what drink would you want for today? You could always have a Cappuccino,
Espresso, Coffee or Assorted Teas.
Lady:Thank you Connie, I think I will have a Cappuccino to set up my mood.
Concierge: Here is your Cappuccino, Madam. Have a sip. You know where the magazines are, right?
Please, help yourself and feel at home.
Lady: Yes, I think I need to do that so I will not get bored. Thanks.
Concierge: Oh, by the way Madam, what do you want us to do for you today? Would you care for a sham-
poo, a blow dry or something else?
Lady: I am not that sure. I just woke up this morning feeling so dull and ugly. I see myself, my face and
most especially my hair as a disaster! It is worst than having a mountain of paper works on my desk.
Concierge: Oh, you had better relax now, Madam. Everything will be fine. Well, Royal is here, your super-
hero. I will leave the both of you here.
Lady: Thank you so much. I will see you later.
Royal: Hi, Miss Ella Yee, what can I do for you? Oh my, you have a bad hair day. What happened? Are you
under stress? I have to do something about that.
Lady: I need your magic touch and scissors. I will be going out for a private fine dining at ‘One if by Land,
Two if by Sea Restaurant’ in Lower Manhattan tonight with my boyfriend Robbie. My best friend said
that I am in for a great surprise for he is finally proposing. What should I do? I am afraid that I will
lose him as well as my job if he sees me like this.
Royal: Do not be so silly, dear. You think too much! Stay cool. That is the first thing that you have to do
now. Second is that you have to come along with me, so I can give you a 20 minute heavenly shampoo,
your hair cut, blow dry, hair color with highlights and hair conditioning treatment. Then, I would
have to put make up on you, eyebrows with Duffy; the eyebrow slayer and finally give you a French
Manicure with nail polish. What can you say about that? Do you get the picture? I will turn you into a
goddess. That is what makes us number 1.
Lady: Do what you have to do because my boyfriend awaits me. Use your magic scissors on me.
Royal: Dippity, Boppity, Boo!

1. How many times do you usually go to the hair salon/hairdressers?

Sample answer:
I am not the typical kind of woman who is extremely vain. I do not religiously go to the salon
as if they do, just to have a make-up, manicure, pedicure, shampoo, hair spa, hair color, hairdo
or hot oil. I just go there every month for a shampoo, hair trim and hair spa. It is not a necessity,
anyway.
