Sample answer:
Transitional expressions or statements can help connect the ideas. They signal the
closure of the previous topic while indicating the start of another topic. Linking differ-
ent ideas will also be easier if the topics are already arranged in a logical and orderly
manner.
3. What are some don’t s when using transitions?
Sample answer:
Transitions should not be overdone. When using a transition to summarize the previ-
ous portion, refrain from restating things that are not so important. It should also just
give a glimpse of your next topic.
1. You are an entrepreneur of Golden homes who is about to present the con-
cept of low cost housing of a condominium unit to potential business part-
ners. You’ve just given a market overview and you have to make a transition
to the next portion of your proposal.
Sample answer:
The current market situation promises to be a very profitable venture. As previously
mentioned, our main target will be young professionals who would want to have qual-
ity and accessible homes. Let me proceed with the description of the condominium
units. As you see, the design was created with our target market in mind. However, we
did make some concessions to ensure that the units would also cater to other poten-
tial customers. I will now be discussing the units in detail.
2. You are the leader of a feasibility study. You were in the middle of the pre-
sentation for a telecommunication and IT gadget when all of a sudden a pro-
fessor asked how the figures were taken.
Sample answer:
That’s a very interesting question. I plan to run through the graphs later as I discuss
how we did the computations, but to quickly explain this, I’ll give you a gist. We did
random sampling. We did researches on several functions that a young professional
needs in a gadget. Then, we tabulated the highest-ranking choices. This will be further
explained in the latter part of the presentation. Are there other questions?
