this program, inmates train stray or abandoned animals
that need a home.
Sparky spent eight weeks training at the correctional
center before moving to a school last winter. Sparky
currently lives at the Missouri School for the Deaf,
where young deaf students are teaching him more signs.
He can now respond to signs that tell him to sit, heel,
lie down and stop. He will eventually move into a home
after he learns some more signs.
