                             A number of cases of food and beverage poisoning have
               recently occurred in Indonesia. One case that is widely discussed by
               the community is the case of four children who were poisoned after

               eating  grilled  cassava.  Quoted  from  detiknews.com  this  happened
               because the four children ate cassava which turned out to contain
               cyanide acid with a high concentration. Often people consume types
               of  cassava  with  high  HCN  levels  and  improper  processing  so  that

               HCN levels in cassava still exceed safe levels that can be consumed
               by humans.

                           Cyanide acid is a poison that causes the body to lack oxygen

               in  tissues.  Cyanide  acids  are  a  group  of  compounds  containing
               cyano groups that occur in nature in different forms. Cyanide acid in
               the form of hydrogen cyanide (HCN) can cause very rapid death if

               inhaled in certain concentrations. Cyanide acid can dissolve in water,
               so to remove toxins from HCN the easiest way is to soak it in water at
               a certain time. The ionization reaction on cyanide acid in water is as
               follows:
