DMTC Students Selected for BMW Apprenticeship

seniors Evan Morgan and Darius Thompson
have been selected to participate in a new ap-
prenticeship partnership. The BMW Rising
Scholars program is an apprenticeship initiative
that targets high school seniors to spend a por-
tion of their school day at the BMW Training
Center. Both young men completed a rigorous
interview process at the end of their junior year and were selected along with 13
other students in Spartanburg and Greenville counties.
This partnership is a collaboration of the SC Technical College System, Appren-
ticeship Carolina, BMW MC, and Spartanburg and Greenville County career cen-
ters. These students participated in a signing ceremony at the BMW Zentrum on
August 9. The ceremony featured the President of BMW MC-Knudt Flor, the Pres-
ident of the SC Technical College System-Dr.Tim Hardee, and the SC Lt. Gov.
Pamela Evette. Upon completing the program this year, both young men will
have the opportunity to advance to the BMW Scholars program at Spartanburg
Community College.
