Carpentry Students Frame New House
Carpentry II and III students are working on the construc-
tion of a new house. It is a 3 bedroom, 2 bath open floor
plan of approximately 1300 square feet. Students complet-
ed the floor system last spring and are currently working on
framing the exterior walls and will be working on truss and
interior wall systems next. Greg Medford, the Carpentry
teacher, says the students are working heavily on measur-
ing, cutting, and plan reading skills. He said they are also
demonstrating critical thinking skills as they encounter field
changes.
DMTC Holds Community Open House
On Tuesday, August 24, 2021, the faculty and staff of Daniel
Morgan Technology Center hosted their Fall Open House.
The event provided students, parents/guardians, and in-
structors a chance to get better acquainted. Parents were
excited about the information provided by their child's in-
structor and enjoyed exploring other programs available.
We also had guidance counselors visit to stay abreast of
career path opportunities available at DMTC for the students.
