NATIONAL SECRETARY’S DESK

Greetings one and all,

This is such a busy time of the year for everyone. I hope you find the time to enjoy
the Holidays and spend time with family and friends. Please remember those that
cannot be with us because they are serving our Country abroad and unable to be
home for the Holidays.

2021 has been a stressful, intense, and productive year at the National Office. Although we have numerous
ongoing projects and daily tasks being worked at any given point in time, we mainly focused our energies on
two main endeavors: the outdated network infrastructure at the National Office and the MMS database sys-
tem. As previously reported, we completely overhauled our hardware and software components associated
with the IT section of the National Office. This allowed us a foundation to build on going forward with the
MMS database, better communication with our members, and the ability to bring in modern tools to handle
the challenges facing us in the near future.

The MMS database has undergone major renovations as well. For example, Chapter secretaries now have the
ability to login to our database and make changes and updates to their member records. Chapter secretaries
may now download various reports, in PDF or spreadsheet formats, for their benefit and that of their Chapter
and members. I am happy to report that the Secretaries that have contacted me, or Brother Hickey, (IT Chair-
man), for the MMS login credentials, have reported positive feedback and are using the MMS effectively. As
our National President, Brother Wayne Barnes, recapitulates “TEAM: Together Everyone Accomplishes
More”.
