JOSEPH WARREN CAMP (Omaha #19) Carl Diamond, Adjutant. Heroes from Joseph Warren Camp
participated in the Bro. Gen. Curtis E. LeMay Central Area Conference and Encampment on Saturday,
September 24, 2022. M.W. Brother Alex Straatmann, Grand Master of Masons in Nebraska, was initiated in a
ceremony held at the Omaha Scottish Rite Masonic Center. Alex has been a member of the United States
Army Reserve for more than thirteen years, and currently serves as a Major in the Judge Advocate General’s
Corp. M.W. Brother Alex embraced the light-hearted fun of the Degree with the positive spirit with which it is
intended, but did report being quite surprised a few times during the degree. Among the many guests was our
National Commander, Brother Randy Geck, who presented Alex with a special centennial challenge coin. We
were also fortunate to have National Sojourners President-Elect Brother Chuck Warren as our guest.
Following the degree work and conference approximately 50 Brothers and Ladies gathered for Bennington
Banquet. Part of the Bennington Banquet was the very special Camp Follower Degree when Den Mother Lady
Carol Geck and many Ladies from around the country initiated seven new Camp Followers! We spent a lot of
time laughing together and shared a carefree evening of good fellowship and camaraderie.
