20 THE SOJOURNER
FORT CAMPBELL CHAPTER #177,
John Routzahn, Secretary. For the third year
in a row, Fort Campbell Chapter #177 and
®
Old Hickory Camp, Heroes of ‘76
participated in a WREATHS ACROSS
AMERICA event held at the historic
Riverview Cemetery in Clarksville, TN. This
year millions of Americans gathered at more
than 2,200 participating locations as one
nation, to remember, honor and teach that as
a free society the privileges and rights we
enjoy are not free. Americans recognize that
it was through the efforts and sacrifices of
our U.S. Armed Forces which won and
secured those freedoms which will be
maintained by our future guardians of liberty.
As members of Fort Campbell Chapter #177
and Old Hickory Camp participated, the
Bro. Dean Grimes: “I Am the Flag” Presentation assembled people saw a visible reminder that
over 340 veterans from every American war
(four of which are revolutionary war veterans) are laid to rest in this most precious garden of stone. The
National Sojourners Color Guard posted and retired the colors, offered the “Toast to the Flag”, presented “I
Am the Flag” and the “Flag Folding Ceremony”. OHC Commander Will Welty, USCG, was honored to lay
one of the wreaths dedicated to each of the uniformed services. These National Sojourner Americanism
programs events were well received by all attendees. May God continue to give our nation the light, wisdom,
and courage to persevere in liberty for the next 246 years. So, mote it be!
