Misalignment on hook
Three-point joint alignment: To avoid common elbow and
wrist injuries, make sure that you have a three-point joint
alignment when throwing punches. You generate a great
amount of power when engaging your hips to throw
punches, so you must ensure a proper support structure
behind the knuckles and wrist, the joints that bear the brunt
of the force generated by your hips.
When throwing straight punches (jab or cross), make sure
that your wrists, elbows, and shoulders are aligned. Your
wrists, elbows, and shoulders should be aligned for hooks to
the head; knuckles, wrists, and elbows should be aligned for
hooks to the body. Make sure that your knuckles, wrists, and
elbows are aligned when throwing uppercuts.
