to 49 years) is also a concern. The
prevalence was still high although there
was a reduction from 35.5% (NHMS 2015)
to 29.9% (NHMS 2019). Therefore,
concerted efforts are urgently required to
address this issue.

As reported in the NHMS 2018, 30.8% of
the elderly aged 60 years and above were
suffering from malnutrition, with 5.2% of
them being underweight, 37.0%
overweight and 17.6% obese. There was
also 23.2% of the elderly who had
sedentary behaviour.
