REAL WOOD VENEER FACING SELECTION:
A wide variety of species of real wood veneer is available on websites, but most of them only come in large sizes, so they
get pricy. I purchased PureEdge real wood veneer facing in cherry at our local Menards in a 24” X 48” piece for under $35.
Menards has a limited supply of different species and sizes available but at great prices. It can be purchased at
www.menards.com. 24” is wider than is really needed, but it gives you the opportunity to use the best grain pattern.
ROUGH CUT VENEER TO SIZE:
Place the dash face up and the glove box door face down on the face of the veneer sheet and draw around the dash about 1”
larger than the dash. The veneer can be cut with regular scissors. The piece for the glove box door is for the backside of the
door. NOTE: Do not cut out the opening for the glove box door or any other opening at this time!
ADHERRING VENEER:
Using a good quality contact cement, apply an even coat to both the back face of the veneer and the front face of the dash,
and the inside face of the glove box door. Wait for the contact cement to cure [Follow directions for product you
purchase!] If you purchased a veneer that has an applied adhesive, follow directions supplied with veneer.
