5. Remove the gear-shift axle assy
(a). Remove the straight pin.

(b). Remove the gear-shift axle assy.

6. Measure the clearance between the gear-shift
head and the block

Standard Limit
646B 0.7~1.0 mm 1.4 mm
651B 0.7~1.0 mm 1.4 mm

If it is beyond the limit, replace with a new gear-shift
head.
7. Measure the radial clearance between the
gear-shift head and the gear-shift axle spline
Clearance

Standard Limit 31A
646B 0.05~0.11 mm 0.5 mm
651B 0.05~0.11 mm 0.5 mm

If it is beyond the limit, replace with a new gear-shift
head.

8. Inspect the gearshift fork shaft
(a). Inspect the gearshift fork shaft, if it is deformed, adjust it at once and replace with a new one
if the deformation is serious.
9. Inspect the locking steel ball
(a). Inspect the locking steel ball, replace with a new one if it is worn.
