3.3 DEVELOPMENT OF WILDLIFE MANAGEMENT PLAN
Proposing mitigation measures in WMP is an extension of the proposed mitigation measures
described in the approved WIS/EIA, in a more detailed manner as the WMP document is
equivalent to (or part of) the EMP report. Thus, describing the mitigation measures according to
the predicted impacts should follow at least the format in EIA with an additional summary table as
in Table 3.2. The detailed plan (process and procedures) for each of these management
(mitigation) activities are described according to the development phases; Pre-Construction,
Construction and Operation.
The proposed mitigation activities listed according to the development phase in Table 3.2 serves
as a guide for consultants to choose which appropriate mitigation measures are suitable for each
development phase. This is considered a minimal measure needed to reduce the proposed
project’s impacts on the wildlife and wildlife habitat. Since EIA and EMP/WMP are site-specific,
these mitigation activities (measures) need to be adapted according to the predicted impacts
described in EIA. However, not all mitigation measures need to be adopted in WMP since EIA and
WMP may be done by different experts, and they may have different views on the impacts.
However, other new and additional measures are also welcome, and all the measures need to be
approved by PERHILITAN.
The details of how the WMP should be prepared are described in Chapter 4.
Table 3.2 : Summary of the proposed management activities according to management
components and development phases. Some activities proposed here are only
for consolidation and assessment (*) and are considered an option (see Table 3.1 above).
