Danish Kringle Mat

Made up from a series of interlinked components that have the form of the

overhand knot, this mat was so named by Kai Lund after the sign that hangs
outside the pastry shops in Denmark. A coaster-sized mat can be made with

about three to four yards of eighth of an inch diameter cord. A small doormat
would need about 30 yards of half-inch diameter rope.
